The Hunger Games

After reading "The Hunger Games" novel, I gave it a solid 4 stars out of 5. I had a very similar reaction to this movie, an indication of the faithfulness of the book-to-film transfer.

For a basic plot summary, "The Hunger Games" sees Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) & Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) thrown into a battle-to-the death with 23 other young people as a result of a "1984"-like dystopian society bent on total population control. Living in a society completely controlled by "The Capitol", Katniss & Peeta struggle to survive in the deathly competition while at the same time sending a message of hope to the thirteen districts watching the Hunger Games event.

In terms of being faithful to the book, this movie succeeds tremendously. Director Gary Ross takes a great written story and adeptly adapts it to the big screen. All the major events happen as written by Suzanne Collins, while even the minutiae is, for the most part, accurate. There's really nothing to get upset over in the translation, besides (of course) the usual pairing down of some background dialogue to keep the film from going even longer than its 2 hours, 22 minute runtime.

The casting/acting is also quite well-done. About the only cast member that didn't potentially live up to the billing was Liam Hemsworth as Gale. Other than that, I really enjoyed the two leads as well as the auxiliaries such as Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, & Elizabeth Banks, to name a few.

Basically, "The Hunger Games" movie succeeds because of the strength of the original story and the faithful adaptation of that story. Because this is (at heart) a young-adult story, a lack of deeper character development & plots prevents me from giving it a full five stars (fair or not). Other than that, though, there is nothing else negative I can say about the experience.

Safe

 I really liked this movie. It had an interesting story about a little girl who has the ability to memorize everything she sees and has a code in her head that the Chinese mob, Russian mob and almost the entire New York City police department want. It seems they are all willing to destroy a city to get her and if not, kill her.

Ex bad cop Luke notices everyone chasing her in a subway and somehow grabs her and they get away only to be chased by everybody.

This movie does not lack action and violence. It's over the top but not in a way where it looks stupid.

If you're looking for a movie with non stop action this is it. Pair that with a likable loser ex cop and a cute little girl that can shoot a gun and you have a movie worth seeing again.

 If you look at the title "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" and think "That's silly. I won't like it," then you won't. If you look at that title and think "F*#$ yes I want dinosaurs on a spaceship. And throw in some Egyptians," then you will. As a bonus, Mitchell and Webb!

The Five-Year Engagement

I've never written a review on Amazon before. I can't say much about this film other than for what should be a knockout comedic cast, it is amazingly boring and slow. I think the director imagined the humor would be found in the characters' quirky, offbeat dialogue, except the dialogue isn't funny or quirky. It's like watching the life of two semi-funny people, minus any interesting parts. I want my 3.99 back.

Battleship

I can remember as a younger father playing the Hasbro game with my kids. I also have a vague recollection of playing a version as a kid myself using a pencil and paper but that could be just dead brain cells floating around. Speaking of dead brain cells...with a movie like "Battleship" it is usually a good idea to set the bar low (pick a Michael Bay movie) and just relax. For me, I use the second "Transformers" movie "Revenge of the Fallen" as my standard.

Here we have some early scenes that actually aren't bad and begin to flesh out the characters. The focus is on bad boy, Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) who somehow becomes a U. S. Navy officer at the insistence of his big brother, Stone (Alexander Skarsgard) who already is a Commander. Unless memory again fades, having been in the Navy myself it is unlikely that they would accept a drunken felon into their officer corps (i.e. Alex) but maybe things have changed.

While this is a minor nit not worth picking, there are so many other flawed technical aspects of the film, it can't be taken seriously. The good news is that the movie is wildly, if absurdly, entertaining. It is decently constructed with a beginning, middle and an end. The movie is extremely loud at times, especially when the alien visitors take offense at being threatened and launch their razor sharp ball bearing thingies. I mean, the Earthlings did invite them, right? All is well that ends well, especially when you have the mothballed (yet battle ready!) U.S.S. Missouri easily launched with a skeleton crew (pun intended).

Breaking Bad Season 5, Ep. 8 "Gliding Over All"

Spoiler Alert: Immediately after Walt went for his PET scan for cancer, punched the paper towel holder in anger I assume, things started to change fast. He did a 180, gave Jesse his money, and told Skyler he is out (of the drug business). He is acting like he's trying to go back to his old life, as though he knows it's over--but then again, who knows?? Walt has become such a good liar and schemer, it's hard to tell if he has something else up his sleeve and a plan for all that money in the storage space. The cancer is back and he knows he no longer is going to be able to be 'Gus" after all??? Yes, Hank then finds out about WW, but don't forget about the first scene of episode one when Walt is in a diner, having breakfast, with a wig or hair and using a fake name. What is that about? I think Hank confronts him in the next season, and Walt goes 'on the run'...but keeps his Czech Rep. connections. This show is so amazing, it keeps you guessing and trying to figure out what will happen next. How can we wait til next Season??

Xbox 360 Live Points Card

First off, I'm an otherwise very happy Xbox Live Gold member. Instead of buying a points card from a retailer, I made the mistake of buying the points online from Microsoft through the Xbox. I used my gamer tag account and entered my credit card on the TV and I bought 500 points. I got the email confirmation that I bought the points. I then used the points. So far so good.

Over the next two days, four other Xbox charges totaling $30 mysteriously appeared on my credit card. Someone bought more points and a game subscription using my credit card info. I called Xbox Live support- their answer was "we don't give refunds." I explained that it's not a REFUND if my account is used fradulently. They still said no.

Note that clearly the security leak was with them, as no other fraudulent charges appeared on my credit card...just Xbox charges.

I then asked them to delete my credit card info from my Xbox Live account. They said they could not do this. I could not believe this! Given that someone had access to my credit card and they were unwilling to remove my credit card info, I had no choice but to cancel my credit card.

My advice- buy the points from a trusted source like Amazon. Don't ever give Microsoft direct access to your credit card info. I hope this helps.

For me, I didn't have to update anything in my game once I activated the game. (Karkand may have come with that 4GB patch release a while ago.) Anyway, I just started a game, and joined a Karkand map. Truth be told, I too was confused as to how to activate the game until I came across a post by EA. I hope this helps.

Battlefield 3: Premium [Download]

I got this directly from the publisher but so far it has been quite enjoyable. I'm liking some of the new weapons already. This is a one-time payment and is not annually-based like Activision does with the CoD franchise. In my opinion that is much more of an appeal. We pay for enough services out there on a yearly basis.

Hopefully somebody can clarify this for me, but if you own Back to Karkland already do you receive a discount/reimbursement or is it going to stay at $50? Either way knowing that I paid for the future expansion packs all in one payment is ideal and convenient.

It's worth the purchase/download. The queue prioritizing is nice but essentially worthless on premium servers, since everyone has premium.

I'm a casual gamer and I'm sure there will be much more thorough reviews than mine but I wanted to provide the casual crowd with my take on this offering.

20 new weapons, 20 new vehicles, new dog tags, queue priority, and other features become available. I believe new kits and uniforms as well. New achievements are introducted for premium users along with the new expansion pack, two weeks early access for expansion packs along with being able to reset your player stats.

Crysis

With Original Crysis going on 3 years old, I have upgraded my system 3 times since the original install. If DRM were in the original Crysis, I would likely not be able to install it on my next generation upgrade, which will happen because of the new MB's with USB 3.0, addional PCI16 slots, and additional SATA I connectors of 6+ on the newer MoBo's. Graphics card is always upgraded, and when each new Mobo, I always upgrade my processor. So it will look like a totally new system, and that is the problem. Great Game, but I won't buy anything with DRM, period. It is impacting sales.
Of course I could get a cracked version free, but I believe piracy can lead to the end of innovation and possibly products for the PC despire that I am honest. DRM inhibits sales to honest people, not pirates. When will the dolts at EA get it. Likely never, so sadly I suspect that means no purchases from EA. It is killing me because EA has been around since the Atari 800 and they have always made awesome games. No Crysis Warhead either... DRM.. :(

ArmA 2: Combined Operations

If you are a soloist, a Rambo, a loner, this is probably not the game for you. The majority of people playing video games now days, are multiplayers. They play online for that extra challenge. This game involves not only multiplayer but teamwork on a high level. That high level is set by the players. Once you immerse into the land of Arma II, you will find yourself talking as if you have been in the military for years. This is a military simulation, not the average arcade game. You will not hear people talking about face rolling, and total pwnage and all that crap. You will only hear the calls for close air support, transport and long ranged artillery. If you are that role playing, military game guru, you will love the multiplayer associated with this game. However if you are into points and worrying about your kill to death ratio, find a server with Player Vs. Player. Some snipers pride themselves on taking out those loners. The Delta Force will work together on special operations missions, the pilots will be in their own group, and don't be surprised to see a Shooter and a Spotter acting as one Sniper. This is an incredible game, if you play it the way it was intended to be played.

If you are considering picking up the game. Check out the guys at 7th Cav, they always keep a populated server, and they really use that teamwork you are looking for.

The Sims 3

I have never reviewed an item on Amazon, but my experience was so different from the other two listed here that I had to put in my two cents. I've wanted the Sims 3 since it came out, but my old Mac's video card wasn't up to the job. As soon as my new Macbook Pro was up and running, I went looking for a copy I could download. Since these reviews scared me off Amazon a bit, I tried another site first, but it just sent me in circles and I never got the game. Finally, I decided that Amazon was my only choice for immediate download, and decided to risk it. And you know what? It worked perfectly. Absolutely perfectly. A 5GB game downloaded in 1.5 hours, it installed flawlessly, and I've been playing it ever since, like the good little Sims addict I am. FYI, I'm on a Macbook Pro, 2.3 GHz, 4GB of memory and an Intel 3000 video card.

As for the game itself, I find it a great jump up from Sims 2, though it's very similar. This one has fewer loading screens and the world is definitely a bit more detailed. I'm trying to resist buying all the expansion packs right away, but I somehow doubt I'll succeed.

HTC EVO LTE 4G Android Phone (Sprint)

My son has this phone and it works great! Ditto on the glowing remarks of others.

One tip. The battery life was just so-so until I figured out what was wrong. You might want to turn off LTE for now. My guess is that it is constantly searching for an LTE signal, and since it can't find one it is draining the battery.

In regard to download speed, we live in a rural area that never had WiMAX. I know the connection is still the same, but the speed seems so much faster than our first gen android phones. I wonder if battery life with LTE will improve when there really is an LTE network? If it proves to be too short, I might have to decide between speed and battery life. I can see using Tasker to only turn on (then off) LTE in certain cases.

From a distant sight, it looks just like an iPhone especially if you go with the white cover. The performance and function is amazing. I have had several phones, including iPhone 4, epic and HTC Pro etc. but this is a better device hands down. The screen is crisp, the colors are sharp and it is quick. Compare it to a tablet. I have iPad 2 as well, which I don't use that more expect for Netflix and some hardcore tablet Apps.

However, for some the screen size (4.6") might be too big as at times it is inconvenient scrolling through the screen with one hand. The screen span is too big for thumb to navigate and touch all corners. For this reason, I liked the Samsung epic at 4.2" screen size. It was perfect for one-hand navigation although slightly heavier due to extra keyboard.

Recommendation: Buy it, it is the greatest smartphone out there for another 30 days! ;) Technology is moving so fast, you never know what is coming out next! This is not an investment but an expense. But you already knew that :)

The Samsung Brightside is no smart phone. But for a basic phone with no required data plan, I believe it deserves "Best in Class."

The call quality is good, and Verizon offers the best coast-to-coast coverage in the cellular industry. The touch screen feels accurate and responsive. As with their Galaxy Tab, Samsung has proven they can build a good touch screen.

One uniqueness is that the Brightside offers both a touchscreen and a slide-out physical keyboard. This adds some girth to the phone, but it's still lightweight, and the frame does not feel bulky. It's a welcome accessory for heavy texting.

Other perks include a camera and music player. The 3.2 megapixel camera is just what I need for those unplanned "Kodak moments" when I don't have a regular camera around. It's far superior to the 1.3 megapixel on my previous two phones. The music player is pretty straightforward and puts out a good sound that's not too quiet or tinny.

That said, there are a few negatives. I would've appreciated more customization options with things like home page colors, font sizes, etc. When testing out some PDF files, I found the document viewer slow and clunky and see myself using it very little. I had some problems downloading drivers when I first plugged in the USB. It also took me a while to get the phone to recognize my music files. But with a little persistence, all seems to be working smoothly now.

Sure, we'd all love to have a smart phone. But the $30/mo. data plan is hard to swallow when many of us already have internet access. If you're looking for a sleek touch screen phone and don't expect to use internet much, the Brightside is a great option.

Originally I would run into several issues with my phone, but they were always something pretty minor. For instance, if I connected my DroidRAZR to my Lapdock 500 the battery would die extremely fast. Another issue I had was games such as Phase 10 constantly Force Closing. However, these problems didn't take much away from a phone which worked amazingly. After owning the phone approximately four months I lucked out and was able to upgrade my phone to Ice Cream Sandwich. After upgrading the OS this phone has been absolutely amazing. It blows my iPhone out of the park. Below I've listed some things which help to make the phone even better than stock, and since making these adjustments my phone has been flawless:

1) Upgrade your OS to Ice Cream Sandwich--This should be done through your carrier once they release the update.
2) Install an Ad-Blocker app (most need your phone rooted, but some don't!)
3) Set up power-saver options from the Smart-Actions application to save battery!
4) Turn your screen brightness down! (By default it's extremely high)
5) Turn 4G connection off and download a 4G widget switch so you can turn it on only when you need it.
6) "Freeze" bloatware applications. Uninstalling these can cause problems, so only freeze them.
7) Install the Amazon app store and receive free apps every day!

Once ICS is install on your DroidRAZR Lapdocks change from something that's "cool to say you have" to something you can use anywhere. My phone now goes a full day with moderately high use with about 40% battery remaining, and a full down with below-average use with approximately 75% battery remaining. In addition, the Lapdock has now become an extension to my phone rather than an application that runs on my phone which makes applications such as Netflix which previously caused issues to work now work perfectly. As if all of that wasn't enough, since my OS has been upgraded I haven't had a single application force close on me.

The benefit of the size is the screen but... I'd rather have a little smaller phone than a little bigger screen. (but that's me) 3. power button on the size opposite of the volume rocker is annoying if you are trying to power on with your left hand. try it out. 4. a little delay in "wake up time"... once again... a little annoying. 5. compare to iphone 4 the touch screen is a little choppier, but does not diminish the user experience. Summary: This phone works like it should and more. This is definitely a fun and exciting phone. My dislikes are mostly user experience and can be subjective. But... that's what I've noticed so far with this phone. I highly recommend this phone

Chopin: The Complete Preludes

This review is from: Chopin: The Complete Preludes (Audio CD) Vanessa Perez is a rare breed of pianist - a sensitive and passionate player that lights up the keyboard whenever appropriate. The perfect example of this is the contrast between the incredibly moving 15th Prelude (the Raindrop) and the 16th Prelude. In the Raindrop, her playing ranges from tender to deep to even quite intense. Just after, Miss Perez launches a thunderous run through one of the most exciting moment of the Preludes. Overall, her approach to the Preludes is illuminating - almost like a chameleon that changes colors to fit in with its changing environment. The additional Preludes, rarely played, are quite a delight. She makes a compelling argument that the works ought to be performed more often. Yet there is so much more to the CD, with the Barcarolle and Fantasy also on the program. Any pianist that can play the Preludes, Barcarolle, and Fantasy this well is a superb pianist. The works demand so many different types of qualities from the musician. In the Barcarolle, she builds from the lovely opening to build waves of momentum that create a heroic element to the work. Meanwhile, her Chopin Fantasy possesses all of the drama and excitement necessary to showcase this fiery woprk, easily one of Chopin's lengthiest single movement solo works. The sound on the recording is excellent, and the piano sound is perfectly suited to the repertoire.

It was wonderful! This was my first opportunity to get to amazon to buy this CD and I'm thrilled to be the first to tell how great this CD is. I've only heard one of the two CDs and the one I listened to was nearly 75-80 minutes long. Every tract sounded very clear with no backgroung noise. You won't be disappointed!! If you feel tense or stressed, listening to these selections will calm your nerves and renew your spirit. From tract to tract, each has mind easing flow that can help enable you to relax your breathing and clear your thoughts. You will be filled with serenity and peace. In my profession I have listened to many different types of relaxing and classical variations of compositions so I can tell you that you will not regret buying this collection of music.

Dvorak: Symphonic Works [Box set]

Concerto, One Night in Central Park

I don't categorize him as just an opera singer. He can sing any kind of song perfectly. This disc is proof of that. I love his duet with Tony Bennett entitled "New York New York" This song is a celebration of a great state. "Funiculi Funicula" is a song with an upbeat playful tone. I like this song a lot. "Di Quella Pira" is a song that makes my spirit soar. This is a kind of song that gets me motivated to try something difficult. His duet entitled "The Prayer" with Celine Dion is a highlight on this disc. This song restores my faith in the power of prayer. "Ave Maria" is a song that touches my heart. I love his version of this song. "La Donna e Mobile" makes me wants me find a partner and dance around the floor. More is a Sinatra song, but Andrea makes it his own. This tune is very romantic. Chris Botti lends his talents playing the trumpet on this track. I absolutely love this song. Andrea puts his spin on the gospel song "Amazing Grace". This song really moves me. "Volare" is a song with a swooning romantic tone. The music on this disc is superb.

Bruckner: 9 Symphonies [Box Set] [Box set, Import]

This review is from: Bruckner: 9 Symphonies [Box Set] (Audio CD) This is unquestionably one of Karajan's greatest achievements. And it's hard to imagine a better Bruckner cycle than this. I've listened to Bruckner for a long time and own at least 5 recordings of each symphony. Every one of these performances ranks up there with the best (I must single out the performance of the 5th, absolutely THE best I've ever heard!). There is not a weak performance in the box. And you simply will not hear these symphonies played better than here. The Berlin Philharmonic is glorious. Karajan was often accused of producing beauty just for beauty's sake, but here it is always at the service of the music. In these grand, epic works where other conductors can get lost or lose tension in certain areas, Karajan has an incredible ability to comprehend the structure of each movement, keep it flowing, and make each transition from section to section sound effortless and natural. A great term I once heard to describe it was "architectural far-sightedness". Tempo choices throughout strike me as having an ideal balance of energy and grandeur. And the all important Adagios have plenty of time to breathe without ever dragging. There have been some slightly negative comments about the sound quality. I thought the analog recordings (4-9) were excellent. All the sections of the orchestra were brilliantly caught. I would say some of the big climaxes in the symphonies recorded in early digital (1-3) sound a little harsh and congested, but nothing major enough to detract from the performances. Also, Karajan uses the 1889 version of the 3rd. Though I prefer the 1873 or 1877 versions, it's no big deal. Whether you know Bruckner well, or you've never heard a note he's written, I give this set my strongest possible recommendation. It's a perfect introduction to this music, and a perfect addition to any Classical library. (And getting this 9 disc set for 40 bucks is just robbery!)

My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.

I don't know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.

I saw another review which referred to this toy as "a glorified dog toy". That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn't realize the value of this toy.

- Sophie's body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.
- Sophie's contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.
- She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.
- This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).
- This is a quality baby toy which will last for many years.

I would much rather pay $20 for a safe, engaging toy for my baby, than pay $5 for some piece of junk with lead paint.

Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden

I bought one of these last year for my nieces. I also got one for me, and I'm in my 30's. I waited until the spring time to send in my caterpillar certificate. They came in their own little container with just enough food. So you don't need to feed them anything. I tried to put some real food such as leaves from the plants they like to eat in the wild, but they preferred the food that came with them. I think I received 6 caterpillars and they all turned into butterflies. I let them go a day or two after they emerged. Kids are completely fascinated by the process from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. One word of caution, it may not be the best thing to get for Christmas since you may have to wait until spring to get your caterpillars. They will send them in the winter, but I didn't want the butterflies to die on me or freeze to death if I let them go.

I just bought this to take over for our soon-to-be adopted infant. I was very happy with the small size and weight (perfect for an infant to hold). But most of all, the sound quality is fantastic (and not too loud) - and not electronic sounding at all. And the tunes are all pleasing to the ear and not annoying kid versions. I will like listening to it as much as our son!

Baby Spring Float Sun Canopy, Colors May Vary

We were able to use this float for the first time this weekend. Our son is almost 4 months old and appx 18 lbs so I wasn't sure if he was still going to be too small to use it. Once we put him in the right way (front and back sides are not marked), he had an absolute blast. He was able to lean forward (he can't hold himself up yet) over the inflatable cushion and put his arms around both sides. His toys were within his reach in the convenient mesh ring and the canopy kept ALL sun off him (he has red hair and is extremely fair). He was able to kick his legs and got lots of exercise. I would highly recommend this product to everyone- just be sure to keep a close eye on them if they can't hold themself up. LOVE IT and can't wait to use it again!

Nerf N-Strike Maverick - Colors May Vary

I'm the dad of a 7 year old boy who has two of these, he received his frist one when he was about 5. He has more fun with them, making this a good value for the dollar. The gun itself is fairly durable being able to withstand being stepped on, thrown against either a hardwood floor or a wall (as hard as a 7 year old can throw it). After over a year of use, one of the two guns did experience a failure with the recoil spring and although I was able to fix it (after an hour), I don't think the average person could have fixed it. After several months of use, the darts have a tendancy to enlarge around the base, causing them to fail to fire unless the dart is pushed in firmly which negates the "rapid fire" feature of the revolving gun compared to similar single shot guns where you load a single dart after each shot.

As far as safety, yes, little 7 year old boys will run around with these and attempt to shoot each other. I've been hit scores of times, at less than 5 feet, in the face and even a couple times on the eyelid and IMHO I would be hard pressed to believe that even a direct hit in the eye could cause lasting damage. Bottom line, it's the best toy dart gun I've seen for little kids, a great value but I wish the darts (of which you can buy tons of spares) were a little more durable.

Diablo III: Standard Edition

Diablo 1 and 2 was a great Action-RPG game. Sadly, Diablo 3 is just an action game. Everything is done for you. Strength/Dexterity? They increase those automatically with each level. Character skills? They give them to you when you level (need need to choose what skills you want). The difference between my level 40 Barbarian and your level 30 Barbarian? NOTHING. Well, you may have better armor, but that's all -- our skills and attributes are identical.

Hey, look, I found a cool armor I can't wear yet. Why? Because it's just a level limit. That's all. If I want my Wizard to wear a super heavy plate armor, I no longer need to increase strength to wear it -- I either need to be high enough level or Blizzard simply makes in "unusable" by my class.

It's as if they took all the stuff from World of Warcraft and threw a Diablo Interface on it. Seriously -- I have to spend gold to increase my Stash-size? Really? I need to dis-enchant magic weapons and use the raw materials to create new enchanted items? Really? They simply took the Enchanter class from World of Warcraft and turned it into a shop keeper. Heck, did the Diablo 3 programmers ever actually PLAY Diablo before?

The answer is yes, because so Act 1 is an exact clone of the other games. Seriously, why am I still fighting bats, goat men, skeletons, and zombies 13 years after Diablo 2 came out? And you brought back King Leoric (with a terrible voice over) too? Really? I have to spend 2 hours fighting in the Tristan woods, Cemetery, Cathedral, and Den of Evil. Sound familiar? Yup, because that's what I had to do Diablo 1 and 2. Is there no creativity left at Blizzard? You guys really can't figure out how to create new world? It seems Blizzard literally took the monsters and areas of Diablo 1 and 2, and gave it a 3d-graphical-upgrade. It's like playing the original Pac-Man, but with newer graphics -- no real innovations at all.

Take a look at the Diablo 3 gameplay closely. Deep down inside, it's shallow.

THIS IS NOT a first person shooter! IF you run around like the kids do in first person shooter games,,,,,,, YOU WILL DIE! This is a simulator that needs one to think tactically. The only thing missing in Armed Assault combines arms is the smells, the dust, the flora, gun powder etc, but this is as close as going out to real battle situations as one can get. See you on the battle field.

Nightmare. Read this before you buy. The 2012 version has problems.
Crashed my pc twice just trying to get it runing and never got the issue solved.
Their customer service couldnt figure it out either. BIG HEAD ACHE for me...this biz owner.
My accountant is a QuickBooks expert 20yrs in the biz was on the phone with their support for 3 1/2 hrs and still couldn't get it to run right. She knew alot about the different versions and says some of the years (like 08) have alot of problems and 2012 is one of them. I did not consult her before I bought this one.
The Quickbooks customer service has super heavy accents and hard to understand but the big issue is that I got stuck with this purchase and can't get a refund or exchange.
Plaese beware and read all of the negatives here. I didnt do that and hopefully this may save someone else from getting stuck with junk like I did. I went in a different direction with my books and now have this useless software sitting on a self.

I have Photoshop CS5 on two desktops at home, one upstairs and one down and Adobe's license won't let me put it on a third, so I've got Elements 10 running on my laptop. And I have to admit that I thought I was going to feel cheated, not being able to have the full version of Photoshop with me when I'm on the road.

But I was pleasantly surprised. Ninety percent, maybe more, of what I do in Photoshop, I can do with Elements. In fact, I oftentimes find myself at Starbucks doing complete jobs with Elements, with no reason to go into Photoshop at all. I have to say, for those of you who don't want to shell out the big bucks for Photoshop, you just might find that Elements is all you'll ever need.
